Join a members association in a prestigious, high-profile, high-stakes industry as a Senior Legal Counsel.  Our client is seeking an Industrial Relations Counsel with 4-8 years of PQE to support the organisation's governance, enterprise bargaining, and industrial relations strategies.

About the Role:
  • Provide key external stakeholders, the Executive Team and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with strategic and legal advice across all matters relating to membership, corporate governance, compliance, workplace relations, the sector and more
  • Support the organisation’s governance, including preparation of submissions and reports relevant to the organisation’s interests, to regulatory and governmental authorities such as Fair Work Commission, and more.
  • Legal advisory services with a high level of membership and customer service focus.
  • Lead enterprise bargaining, litigation, and dispute resolution, supporting members through challenging times.
  • Contribute to legal and industrial relations strategy development, including preparing submissions and reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Deliver exceptional legal research, interpretation, and preparation of legal opinions as needed.
  • Manage and resolve disputes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Laws with a minimum 4 years post-admission experience, ideally within unions or membership organisations.
  • Experience working in a legal environment providing written and oral advice, with a focus on exceptional customer/member service.
  • Strong legal research skills, logical reasoning, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to articulate complex legal issues to non-lawyers, with exceptional attention to detail and commercial acumen.
