Our client is a highly regarded and award winning law firm with an outstanding reputation for delivering commercially focused legal advice. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Special Counsel to join its established Corporate & Commercial team.

This is a senior position offering high-quality work, genuine client relationships and the opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of a successful practice.

The Opportunity
Working closely with experienced Partners, you will advise a sophisticated client base including private businesses, large corporations, franchisors, franchisees and business owners across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.

Your work will include:

• Advising on corporate and commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, business sales and acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships and shareholder arrangements
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements and contracts
• Providing strategic advice on commercial contracts, governance, insolvency and corporate recovery matters
• Managing commercial disputes including franchise, shareholder, partnership, leasing, contractual and payment disputes, with support from the firm's specialist disputes team where required
• Delivering practical, commercially focused advice tailored to each client's business objectives
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, reviewing work and supporting their professional development
• Building and strengthening long-term client relationships
• Contributing to business development initiatives and the ongoing growth of the Corporate & Commercial practice

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Approximately 8+ years' post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law
• Experience as a Special Counsel or Senior Associate ready to step into a senior leadership role
• Strong technical ability across a broad range of corporate, commercial and transactional matters
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and advisory skills
• A commercial mindset with the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice
• Outstanding communication and relationship management skills
• A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in mentoring junior lawyers
• A proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
