We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and long-established mid-tier law firm known for its deep expertise in insurance and workers compensation law. This firm has a strong reputation for delivering exceptional legal outcomes and fostering a positive, values-driven workplace culture.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Associate to join their busy Workers Compensation team based in Sydney.

While the ideal candidate will have defendant-side Workers Compensation experience (ideally from another panel firm), those with plaintiff-side Workers Compensation backgrounds will be strongly considered—particularly over candidates with defendant experience in non-WC insurance. Experience with icare / Nominal Insurer / TMF, or a solid understanding of SIRA Practice Directions and WCC procedures is highly regarded.

As an Associate, you’ll manage a broad range of Workers Compensation matters, including statutory benefits, work injury damages, and common law claims. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing timely and commercially sound legal advice with minimal supervision
  • Drafting high-quality legal documents in plain English
  • Managing your own files from start to finish
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and service standards
  • Supervising junior lawyers and contributing to their development
  • Participating in business development and knowledge-sharing activities
What We’re Looking For
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ post-admission experience in Workers Compensation (preferably in NSW)
  • Excellent legal knowledge and drafting skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
  • A current NSW Practising Certificate
