We are recruiting for a top-tier global insurance and risk advisory firm, trusted by leading businesses worldwide to protect their people, assets, and reputations. We are seeking a dynamic Claims Advocate - Financial Lines to join a high-performing Sydney team. This role sits at the forefront of client service offering, managing complex financial lines claims while showcasing the value of partnering with one of the world's leading insurance brokers.
This is a unique role. You could either be an insurance lawyer who wants to move out of practice OR you are degree qualified (Law) and already have a background in a client advisory position. Regardless this role will see you utilising your strong technical insurance knowledge, negotiation skills, and client advocacy to secure the best possible outcomes for financial lines claims. As a key client-facing professional, you will not only provide exceptional claims support but also act as a trusted advisor, championing client outcomes with your solid expertise and advocacy.
THE ROLE
- Manage and advocate for clients through the end-to-end claims process across financial lines (D&O, PI, Cyber, Crime, etc.)
- Advise clients on notifications of circumstances and claims
- Policy coverage analysis and advice
- Strong advocacy skills to support positions on behalf of clients, manage and resolve coverage issues
- Assess and understand legal exposure and quantum, liaising with defence counsel and insurers on strategy and defence of the claim
- Implement and manage claims protocols and reporting procedures, including bordereau reporting
- Claims review meetings with clients and insurer
- Co-ordinating and driving pragmatic resolution of claims
- Monitor and review regulatory and case law developments
- Represent the firm as a trusted advisor, promoting the advantages of partnering with a top global broker
- Law Degree preferred with previous claims advocacy experience or an Insurance Lawyer - 3 years PQE
- Highly skilled in policy coverage analysis
- Self-starter who requires minimal hand holding
- Experience in claims advocacy or management within financial lines insurance (brokerage or insurer background)
- Strong technical knowledge of D&O, PI, Cyber, and other financial lines products
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with proven ability to engage at senior client levels
- Commercial acumen and the ability to articulate the value of a global broker's expertise
- Client-focused mindset with a passion for achieving outstanding outcomes
- Must have full working rights
- $150-160K plus super
