About the role
Due to expansion, a newly created exciting opportunity exists for an experienced insurance lawyer (preferably experience in Defendant insurance work) with 3+ years PAE to join the team.
Working closely with the chief legal officer and the wider team, this role will see you work on complex matters and provide advice and assistance to insureds in relation to claims including determinations on indemnity.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years PAE as an insurance lawyer gained from a reputable private practice or in-house environment, with the proven ability to build strong relationships and provide high-quality outcomes. To succeed in this role, you will be highly motivated with exceptional attention to detail and strong drafting and analytical skills. Part time and full time applicants are encouraged to apply.

- Manage appropriate unlitigated claims in-house
- Regular review and proactive management of claims toward early resolution
- Claims efficiently handled, reducing the duration and legal panel/defence costs
- Appropriate allocation of work to legal panel firms
- Review and assessment of legal panel accounts
- Accurate and timely advice in relation to claims queries
- Reporting of high-risk insureds
- Report to reinsurers on claims agreed within timeframes
- Maintain databases and review entry of required claims
- Assist to inform the profession on any endemic risks. New exposures, increased claims trends, and relevant judgements
- Contribute articles to internal and external publications
