The Role
We are searching for a Senior Associate to join this highly successful team. You will be working with 2 highly respected Partners across a wide spectrum of clients. This includes early-stage businesses, leading international private equity firms and venture capital. The work includes advising on structural changes, strategic corporate transactions, commercial issues, advising on every stage of a private equity transaction cycle, including fund formation, sponsor team equity and carry arrangements to acquisitions, and portfolio company exits.
You will be part of a close knit team, working alongside other Senior Associates and Special Counsel and mentoring junior lawyers. You will join a busy practice and have the opportunity to work on a range of corporate transactions and learn from well-regarded partners to deliver high quality work for our clients. You might already be a Senior Associate or ready to take the step up.
To be considered for the role, you will need to have:
- 5-9 years post qualification experience in corporate and commercial law, specialising in M&A transactions
- A strong academic background
- Qualified to practice as a solicitor in NSW or other Australian jurisdiction - holding (or entitled to hold) current practising certificate
- Strong technical and drafting skills across a range of corporate transactions
- The ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships and lead client engagements independently
- Experience training and mentoring junior lawyers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
