He has experience recruiting senior legal roles and legal management roles for a range of law firms in New Zealand. He also has experience in recruitment leadership for a large corporate. Jarrod joined the Elias Recruitment team in April 2024.Jarrod lives in Auckland with his 4 boys and when he's not spending time with his boys and all their activities, he enjoys triathlon, mountain biking, ocean swimming and cycling.Jarrod holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences and a Post Graduate Diploma in Commerce.

We represent a newly established Incorporated Legal Practice (ILP) based in Sydney's CBD, operating as part of a wider multidisciplinary professional services group. The practice sits alongside allied businesses in mortgage broking, financial products, migration services, and accounting, offering a steady pipeline of quality referrals and true cross-sector collaboration.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity for a senior legal practitioner to join at ground level and play a pivotal role in the growth of the firm. For the right candidate, a genuine equity and partnership offering is available from day one, with full support to help establish and grow the legal brand.

The role is ideally suited to a capable generalist solicitor who enjoys autonomy, values long-term professional relationships, and is seeking to build something meaningful within a trusted and well-connected business environment.

Core Practice Areas:
  • Property Law & Conveyancing - including residential, commercial, and off-the-plan
  • Wills & Estates - testamentary documents, probate, and administration
  • Immigration Law - advisory, visas, tribunal matters
  • Family Law - parenting orders and property settlements (desirable but not essential)
Thanks to the group's established client base and referral networks, the role comes with immediate workflow. Business development skills are welcome but not essential, as referral work is already well-established through the associated entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing client files end-to-end with minimal supervision
  • Advising clients across a range of legal matters with clarity and commerciality
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
  • Appearing on behalf of clients when necessary (e.g. settlements, court)
  • Working collaboratively with referral partners across the wider group
  • Upholding ethical, professional and compliance standards
  • Contributing to the firm's strategy, culture and long-term success
  • Training new lawyers
What You Bring
  • An Unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate and is willing to be licensee in charge
  • Minimum 5 years' PAE, ideally in general practice or SME advisory
  • Strong expertise in property, conveyancing and wills/estates
  • Experience in immigration law highly regarded
  • Family law experience is a plus but not essential
  • A personable, polished and reliable professional demeanour
  • Ability to work independently and integrate within a multi-disciplinary setting
  • A collegial mindset and appreciation for a positive, sociable work culture
