Our client is a well-established personal injury and compensation firm with over 20 years in the industry, built on a foundation of care, commitment, and trust. With a diverse and growing team, they are now taking an exciting step forward by establishing their employment law practice.

About The Role

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead an employment law function from the ground up. With a steady stream of enquiries already coming through the door, they are now seeking an experienced, commercially minded employment lawyer to drive and shape the practice.

As the firm's first employment lawyer, you will manage matters independently, work closely with the broader team, and play an active role in business development as the practice evolves. This is a true build role, suited to someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and the confidence and ambition to shape and grow a practice. Day-to-day, you can expect to be involved in:
  • Advising clients across a broad range of employment law matters
  • Managing your own file load with a high degree of autonomy
  • Fielding and converting new employment enquiries into the firm
  • Collaborating with partners and the broader team on matters with an employment law dimension
  • Contributing to business development and the growth of the employment practice
  • Laying the groundwork for what will become a fully-fledged employment law team

About You
  • 4–8+ years PQE in employment law
  • Associate approaching Senior Associate, or Senior Associate level
  • Experienced enough to manage matters independently from day one
  • Commercially minded with strong client-facing skills
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine drive to build and grow a practice
  • Ambitious, confident, and genuinely excited by the prospect of creating a practice area from scratch
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a close-knit, people-first environment
