We are seeking an experienced and motivated Special Counsel to join an established wills, estate planning and probate team.
The practice provides specialised legal services across:
Clients include private individuals, SMEs, registered organisations and charities.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with 8–10+ years’ post-qualification experience to join a well-established team.
Experience in complex estate planning and administration, as well as trust and tax law implications, is essential. Experience with estate disputes is desirable but not required.
The role provides a clear pathway to partnership, based on experience and performance. A portable practice is not essential but would be supported if brought to the firm.
You will work in a collaborative environment, supported by an experienced team.

- Think strategically and solve complex legal problems
- Provide clients with clear, practical, accurate and timely advice
- Manage a diverse caseload and ensure high-quality outcomes
- 8–10+ years’ post-qualification experience in wills, estate planning and estate administration, including drafting and advising on:
- Wills and testamentary trusts
- Powers of Attorney (POAs) and Enduring Guardianships (EGAs)
- Probate applications and Letters of Administration
- Strong understanding of trust and tax law implications
- Ability to provide clear, practical, and sensible legal advice
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and client management skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
- Collaborative approach and commitment to working within a team
