Commercial Lawyer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Lawyer with 2-4 years' PAE to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Gordon on Sydney's North Shore.

With a long-standing presence in the market, the firm advises individuals, business owners and corporate clients across a broad range of commercial and private client matters. The practice combines high-quality legal work with a practical, client-focused approach and offers lawyers the opportunity to develop strong client relationships and take genuine ownership of their matters.

The Opportunity

Working closely with experienced practitioners, you will advise a diverse client base across a broad range of commercial matters. The role offers plenty of variety and hands-on involvement, including:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements and contracts
• Advising on business sales and acquisitions and other corporate and commercial transactions
• Acting on commercial leasing matters
• Providing practical advice on commercial risk, regulatory and compliance issues
• Advising on privacy and data-related obligations
• Preparing legal opinions and delivering commercially focused advice directly to clients
• Assisting with commercial disputes and dispute resolution where required
• Working collaboratively with lawyers across the firm's complementary practice areas
• Developing strong relationships with business owners and commercial clients

This is an opportunity to build a broad commercial practice rather than being confined to a narrow area of work.

About You

You will be an Australian-admitted solicitor with approximately 2-4 years' post-admission experience, ideally gained within a commercial or general business law practice.

You will also bring:

• Solid experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Exposure to business transactions, commercial leasing and general commercial advisory work
• Strong commercial judgment and an ability to identify and manage legal risk
• The ability to provide clear, practical and commercially minded advice
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and client-facing capabilities
• Strong attention to detail and file management skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• A collaborative approach and an interest in working within a close-knit team

Experience with privacy and regulatory compliance matters will be well regarded, while exposure to commercial disputes, court matters or alternative dispute resolution would also be advantageous.
